Quaker works to include fabrication processes that incorporate recycling, resource conservation, energy-efficient products and sound environmental practices. Here are some examples:
In our factories, we seek out ways to reduce waste of raw materials like glass, aluminum, vinyl, wood and paint, through the use of advanced machinery and good practices on the production floor.
Our in-house powder coat paint facilities implement several “green” advantages over conventional liquid coatings: powder coatings emit zero or near zero VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Production lines generate less hazardous waste than liquid coatings. Also, overspray from powder can be recycled and reused, making it possible
to achieve nearly 100% use of coating.
We have been an ENERGY STAR® partner for two decades, producing windows and doors that consistently exceed the stringent criteria set forth by the ENERGY STAR program.
We work with other organizations on building projects whose goal is to obtain the prestigious LEED certification.
